Big Day Ahead

Things I am thankful for:
1. renewing my friendship with Lou Butler
2. that Armando and I are still good friends
3. that I've started getting call backs on job apps
4. Brian is back in town

There's a big day ahead...I'm running out to Office Depot, I've got to drop off a memo at a law office, then having lunch with Lou Butler at Legal Sea Food at Boca Towne Centre Mall. I used to work with Lou when I was at the Sun-Sentinel and she is someone I've always looked up to and admired.

Then at 5pm I'm meeting Armando and his friend Milowi at a movie screening off Sistrunk in da 'hood. LOL I'm really looking forward to it.

Also, Brian is back from NYC where he was working the fashion collection of Vivienne Tam. He flew back yesterday and I'm hoping to see him tomorrow. I promised him a movie and dinner at this great Greek restaurant we went to once upon a time.

I got an email over the weekend from Radio Shack saying that they want to interview me and this morning Workforce One called me and said they were forwarding my resume to Goodwill Industries for a program director position.

Hopefully something will pan out soon.

A Good Sunday

Things I'm thankful for:
1. Logan, the coolest dog in the universe
2. Blain and Gioia, two of the coolest friends

I didn't do much today, I just played with Logan, watched him nap, played with him again, watched him nap some more while I watched Ben Hur, played with Logan before bed.

All in all, the perfect Sunday.

Low Key Saturday

Things I am thankful for:
1. Logan
2. Eric, my friend and handyman
3. my home

Today I finished getting all the stuff moved around in my bedroom with the furniture I bought from Gioia's ex. It looks good and gives me sooo much more storage space.
I'm really digging it.

Not So Freaky Friday

Things I am thankful for:
1. Logan
2. Second chances
3. Possibility of romance

I must be the most boring person on earth right now. No plans tonight. Just staying in...me and the dog. But you know, I wouldn't have it any other way. =)

Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who
is Youer than You.
~ Dr. Seuss

I got a flu shot yesterday. It has me feeling kind of crappy today. I'm going back to bed and see if this thing wears off by this afternoon.

So far this season I've watched "Fringe" premiere (loved it), Eastwick (liked it), and anticipating FlashForward's premiere tonight.

2. the unconditional love of my mom
3. the devotion of my puppy

My room mate hurt my feelings yesterday with some thoughtless things he said.
I just let it slide. He's not feeling well and dealing with cancer so I'm letting it go but
that doesn't make it sting less.

I'm going to go to my meeting now, then meet up with Gioia maybe...when I get back I've got to clean my room move the clothes from the old dresser to another.

Not much going on today...getting some new furniture (sort of new, I'm buying it from a friend) and working on the new fish tank...that's about it. Hot stuff, eh?

Another Week Begins

Things I am thankful for:
1. The faucet out back is fixed and I have water again.
2. My friends Blain and Gioia.
3. My sweet puppy.

"Monday" - just another way to say "new opportunity".

Well, another week begins...on today's agenda I am taking lunch to my friend Gioia who is sick, I've got to run to the pet store and pick out an algae eater (the living room tank on the mantle had a sudden eruption of algae), I'm washing the rocks that are going in the living room tank that will sit on the storage unit and cleaning my room, in addition to looking for work like every day.

Good day...Good life

Things I am thankful for today (in no particular order):
1. My mom (who just celebrated her 73rd birthday)
2. My dog (there's nothing like his brand of unconditional love)
3. My home (it's nice to have a place to call your own)
4. My best friend Gioia (she's the yin to my yang, the wind beneath my wings)

Not a bad day all in all...the water main out back is patched (so at least I can shower) and hopefully will be fixed by the end of today.

The weather's a little overcast (sunshine all the time is completely overrated)...Brian is in New York for Fashion Week doing some work for Vivienne Tam for the next two weeks and I'm missing him already, God, he makes me laugh so much...my roommate Blain had a good interview the other day and has picked up some odd jobs to earn some money...

This past week I sucked up my pride and started applying for jobs that I used to think were beneath me. Maybe "beneath" is too strong of a word, more like "jobs for which I am waaaaay over qualified." Anyway, it's time to nut up or shut up.

[OLD WOMAN]
Come here, my dear,
Let's see this trinket you wear...
This bagatelle...

[FANTINE]
Madame, I'll sell it to you...

[OLD WOMAN]
I'll give you four.

[FANTINE]
That wouldn't pay for the chain!

[OLD WOMAN]
I'll give you five. You're far to eager to sell.
It's up to you.

[FANTINE]
It's all I have...

[OLD WOMAN]
That's not my fault.

[FANTINE]
Please make it ten!

[OLD WOMAN]
No more than five.
My dear, we all must stay alive!

New Beginnings...New Directions...New Choices...New Challenges...to be found at Latitude 33

The directions we choose in life...turn left and you could be hit by a toilet seat that fell off of the Mir Space Station...turn right and you could meet the love of your life...it all boils down to choices...the choices that shape are destinies, whether they be random or predestined...that cosmic roll of the dice or being touched by the hand of God.

There are those who say that we create our own reality...God is me, as me, in me.
In a sense, I believe that may be true..."the power of positive thinking" etc. It is not nearly as humanistic and pop culture as "I-us, Me-us, You-us, We-us."

Latitude 33, it is theorized, is a portal, a window to a geophysical zone some suspect may be a gateway to a realm mostly hidden from our view of reality...glimpsing another universe of possibilities...another universe of choices.

There are those who say that there is a "multi-verse"...That there are an infinite number of universes, where anything and everything that can happen does happen.
This is one of the concepts of Quantum Mechanics. Every time there is a choice to be made, it is theorized, there are new realities created. In this reality you went to college, in another reality you barely finish high school...In one reality you are a sex addict and in another you are a Catholic Priest (o.k., bad example)...In one reality you abuse drugs and in another you conceived the "Just Say No" campaign.

Welcome to my multi-verse...turn left and follow my yellow brick road...turn right and down the rabbit hole we go...
